Color of rocks change when they are lit with a lot of...
Don't look real, do they?
Look at those senior citizens making it up to the top!
Only 40 calories?
No thanks, we've climbed enough.
We are 4th row from the stage
The rows of seats go up to 69 high
Wow! To see the Beatles, here must have been amazing!
That'd called "creation rock".

These "disco divas" got into it before the concert even started
Now that we're all the way up, getting worried about those rain...
Somebody gets cut off when you take your own picture!
The temperature was starting to drop, hence the sweatshirts.
Starting to sprinkle a little and get windy.
Look at those clouds

Here they go again!

Tonight we traveled about an hour out of Boulder to the famous "Red Rocks" Amphitheatre. A tribute to ABBA was being performed by a Swedish group and we love ABBA music. The rock structure is near Morrison, Colorado and owned by the city of Denver. The acoustics are perfect for concerts and more then likely used by the Ute Indian tribes in earlier times. Many famous musical acts have performed there, such as the Beatles, U2, Sonny and Cher, Rolling Stones and the Grateful Dead to name a few. The first performance of the season is always Easter Sunrise service which must be amazing. John Denver, Fleetwood Mac, and Dave Matthews are just a few performers who have recorded live DVD's at Red Rocks.
We were excited about just being there, but concerned about the prediction of 40% chance of rain. When the group came on stage, the rain and winds had started, but most everyone was determined to stick it out. After only performing 2 songs, the stage and equipment was getting soaked and the singers had to leave the stage. They mopped and wiped and covered things with plastic, but it didn't look good for them to continue. We had brought rain slickers with us, but they didn't cover our legs or shoes. We were getting soaked and the temperature was dropping. We made the decision to leave and get down the long walkway on the rocks before the crowd all left at once. We got to the car and drove home with the heat on to dry out our clothes. The next morning we called the ticket office to see if the concert had continued in case it hadn't and we could get a refund. To our dismay, it had stopped for 45 minutes and then continued. Oh well, it was still quite an experience just to be there. And besides, we had seen an ABBA tribute band in Orlando that looked and sounded so much like the real group that we couldn't believe our eyes and ears.
