3 Boys at the NT Border

Erldunda Sunset

Greetings from the NT!

Today we travelled from Coober Pedy (SA) to Erldunda (NT). It was our longest single days travel to date. Our stay in CP was great. The hotel was really nice and the Customer Service was by far the best I’ve come across for a long time. We left Coober Pedy and stopped off at the Breakaways, about 20Klms North of CP. This is where Mad Max II was filmed along with a number of other movies. It is just stunning! I could have sat there all day, but we could only afford to spend about an hour. After parking at the Lookout and walking as far as we could, we actually drove into the Breakaways proper. We really have some awesome scenery and features in Australia.

From there we headed north, stopping only for Lunch at Marla.....and the obligatory photo shoot at the NT border.

Once again we reaped the benefits of being later than most travellers, the only real holdup we had was this Dump truck that we actually passed yesterday

....after that encounter, I now have two extra chips in my windscreen....lucky I have a new one waiting for me in Darwin.

We are now in Erldunda. After a few days of putting it up and pulling it down, we have become quite quick at getting the Camper set up. So, I had time to sit in my comfy chair have a beer and watch the sun go down, surrounded by rich red soil and spinifex.

Tomorrow we go to Ularu for another one night stay.

Take Care All, Peter, Christian and Wills.
