In case anyone has noticed, we have not made it to the Volcano National Park. The kids did not seem to thrilled about going. The drive is about 3 hours to get there. So it would be a long day. They said the lava is still flowing but not into the ocean. The next few days are supposed to be cloudy and rainy over on that side of the island. So those are some of the reasons for not going. We will just enjoy the sun and beaches on this side of the island. I guess this means Octi and I will need to come back for our 25th Anniversary.

It seems like it has really been warmer than usual. Temps have been in the mid to high 80's. Had the sunscreen on today and applied it multiple times. I think this is the best tan I have had in years. The rest of the family are tan as always.

Basically, we hung out around the resort/villa. Some swimming at the pool and off to the beach club for the afternoon. Swimming and some snorkeling. We also rented a SUP - stand up paddleboard today . That was fun. Pretty easy considering the bay was very calm. No waves. Everyone tried it even Bella. The oar was kinda long for her but she gave it a try. She tried surfing on her boogie board. Not an easy task. Andrew and Alex went for a run today on the trail to the beach. They enjoyed it. It was great just relaxing on the beach and floating in the water on the boogie board. You could look down at the reef and see some fish even without your face and a mask in the water.

Tomorrow we are going to go out on the jet skis in Kona. They drive you out to a floating island (about 3 minute boat ride) and you ride them from out there. Let's see how quickly that 1/2 hour goes. They have a tandem and one for 3 riders.

(Dad - Octi is almost done with his book)
