What a life of Leisure? on board Ferry

Even old fashioned one armed bandit machines aboard.

Taking in some sea fresh air.

Our ferry

This morning the sky is cloudy and we can see rain on the horizon. We showered and went to breakfast. By the time we finish it is raining and it us very windy, I choose to come back to the cabin and catch up on the last five days diary for you all. We save each day in Word and then transfer to the Lonely Planet site when internet is available which we have discovered is like finding a needle in a haystack.

We will be docking at Ancona Italy at 3.30 this afternoon and then rejoining our Driver Enzo and our coach for a drive to Mestre, Venice Italy. The rain has now stopped and the sea is calm - it is now 1 pm so we need to pack our bags so we can vacate our cabin at 2 pm..

We actually dock at Ancona at 4 pm we disembark and meet Enzo our driver with our bus. Before long we are on our way. Enzo has been on R & R with his family in Naples whilst we have been cruising.

Next stop Venice. We drive through the Apennines - we see wonderful countryside - lush and green and drive towards Bologna, some of us have a short siesta; we see fields of corn and sunflowers, and vineyards. Next we come to the industrial area and the outskirts of Venice. We are staying at the Park Hotel Monestier this is only about 30 kilometers from Denise's relatives. We pass towns Pordenone, S. Dona De Piave, Maestre and Treviso all names that my parents spoke about.

When we arrive at 8.45pm my cousin Maurizio and his son Elia are waiting. Tears all round but they leave within a short while - we have to go and have a meal and they need to get back for work early in the am.

By out 10 am we are all in our rooms.
