| We made the drive from Show Low to Scottsdale through Payson. From Payson on to Scottsdale was very desolate. No gas, no food, no houses. Just lots of large cactus. You come out of the desert right into town, no suburbs. It is very HOT here, 107 was the high today. My generous brother Mike and his wife Terri, gave us a free package he won of 2 free nights at the Marriott and a machine gun adventure at a local gun club. We found a place to park our RV at West World which is a horse event park owned by the city of Scottsdale. During off times they rent out the RV spaces at very reasonable rates. Thank you Lord. The large room at the Merriott is very nice with a king sized bed, a desk, large TV, and comfy chair with ottoman. Most of all it has very cold air. We went to the machine gun adventure and Larry had a blast shooting the gun. I gave him my half of the clips to shoot. (Big sacrifice on my part. LOL) I think he hit the target and we have the proof in the picture. We are leaving in the morning and going to Prescott AZ. Cooler with trees and we will maybe ride the train they have up there that goes through a very pretty canyon. Then on to the Grand Canyon. Love Alice and Larry |
