| Hi Readers, Our first day in Paris we settled into our apartment, we had two rooms, one had 2 beds and a view of the Eiffel Tower, the other had 3 beds and only a view of the outskirts of Paris. On the second day we caught the Metro (underground train) to the Eiffel Tower; my first sighting was pretty amazing, it made me feel I was actually in Paris! The Eiffel Tower is huge and it's mostly made of steel (except the base made of concrete). From there we caught a double decker tour bus to look at the sites. Then we got off at the Louvre to have a look inside the art gallery. You had to go through a glass pyramid to get inside! Inside was outstanding how many people were inside; there were hundreds and hundreds of people in just one room of the huge Louvre. It's kind of funny because I want to go back and see some more of he paintings, especially the Egyptian room. The rest of the day we pottered around the Champs Élysées, the Opera and the gardens. The next day was raining and we stayed in the hotel, packed and went out for dinner. I tried snails, but I didn't really like them. They were chewy like mussels. From Fraser. |
