Sorry, no photos today. All we've done the last two days is drive. We stopped for the night at Columbia, Missouri yesterday. This hotel is interesting. It is a Quality Inn. The outside of it looks old and not very well taken care of and just as we pulled into the parking lot, two police cars pulled up to the entrance. John and I looked at each other and said "Do we really want to stay here?"

I said I'd go inside and check. I'd already made the reservations online the evening before. I asked the desk clerk why the police were there. He said some couple was arguing and raising a fuss. I checked in and looked around. Other than being old, I think in it's day, this motel was quite a grand one. The rooms are all built around the large swimming pool/bar/game area. The pool was filled with lots of kids having fun.

I went back to the car and we drove around to where we entered for our room. The room was clean and we decided to stay. Our room, along with all other inside rooms, have a large wall window that faces the swimming pool area (it has a drape, of course). After dinner, John enjoyed the hot tub and pool. We slept well and it's now 5:30a.m. and time to get ready for today's short trip home. Probably 4-5 hours is all.

During our trip the last two months, when we weren't staying with family, we lodged at Choice Hotels, for the most part. My favorite motel on all of the trip was a Quality Inn near Bosman, Montana. It was fairly new, provided an immaculate room, and served a full, hot breakfast. It was the motel where John forgot his iPhone and they sent it to us at Shannon's home. Other than Choice Hotels, we've stayed at two Super 8's. The one in North Bend, Oregon was nice but the one in Silverthorne, Colorado was not that great. But, all in all, we have been very blessed with wonderful lodging at fair prices.

Gas is finally coming down in price. Here, in Columbia, last night I paid $3.31/gal. I should not have to get gas until we get home.

Lord willing, we will be home around 1 - 2p.m . this afternoon if we can get out of here early. Thank you for traveling with us. I hope you have a safe and enjoyable Fourth. We plan to watch the fireworks on tv. Tomorrow I'll write an ending journal post.
