I had a very busy day on Saturday, June 30, when I ran multiple errands in Hood River, OR near Ainsworth State Park, well actually 30 miles one way but it had many resources. Groceries, laundromat, Walgreens, veterinarian for Abby's food and a not so good place where I got 2" cut off my hair instead of 3/4". GRRRRR...
I got a good start after emptying the tank, hitching the care and taking a shower. I left Ainsworth State Park on Sunday, July 1 and drove a longer day to get here at Emigrant Springs State Park, near La Grande, OR. It's a really nice park in a poor location. Right off the Interstate! :-( Extremely noisy.]But it had a vacancy for me over the 4th and that was hard to find.
This is Oregon Trail country and the park is near an original section of the Old Oregon Trail. Wagon trains camped in the vicinity and replenished their water from a nearby spring. Hence the old wagon which is authentic and the not so real oxen.
The weather here has been very nice; daytime temps in the 60's-70's and nighttime temps in the 50's. Nice and partly sunny with no rain so far and far less humidity. I've walked around the campground, read and rested after my 2 busy days. Limited things to do here so I'm catching up on 'RV-work" too.
From here I'm heading to the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center near Baker City, OR to end my travels in the state of Oregon. I'll add information about the Interpretive Center when I get there.
