Frontier Days in La Pine started on June 30 & runs through July 4th. Events include breakfast by the Lions Club, lawn mower races, Midway & carnival activities, an indoor Quilt Show, Pit BBQ's, a dutch oven cook-off,talent shows, karaoke, a youth fair, live entertainment & there will be a 4th of July Parade on Wednesday. We took in the first day of activities (last Saturday). We saw our first ever lawn mower races, what a hoot !! There were two divisions, the standard lawn mowers & the modifieds, one of which resembled a dragster....LOL! They also hold a Rodeo in town, but Saturdays event was canceled because a rainstorm that came in during the afternoon hours.

We took in the Midway & carnival area, we bought some homemade rhubarb/strawberry jam (looking forward checking that out). The couple we bought the jam from were at one time full time RVers, they had traveled for 15+ years, both being in their 80's now, decided it was time to give up the lifestyle.

After leaving the midway, we were just about to leave town (we were on our way to Bend), when we ran across a car show.....well we had to stop. There definitely were some awesome cars there.
