| Barcelona was so hot! We could only go out for a few hours, and then we would have to sit somewhere to cool off! It is an absolutely beautiful city though. We basically just wandered around all of the different sections of town and met some very nice spanish people. We wandered down Las Ramblas, which is the major tourist spot in Barcelona. We read in one of our tourist books that that is the most common place to be pickpoketed. lucky for us we had nothing in our pockets to pick. but as we walked down we tried to spot pick pocketers, and had no clue which people they were. They're some sneaky buggers. We went and saw La Familia Sagrada, which was beautiful from the outside, but we didnt go into it, because it was soo hot, and the line to get in looked like it was going to take forever. So to get to Lisbon we had to take a high speed train to Mardid and get on a night train there. So for the recorded Spain wins when it comes to trains. The train was air condidtioned, the bathrooms were immaculate, and they showed us a movie. So we watched Thor in spanish. Sarah got most of what was going on, and Crystal got the gist of it. lol So we decided that when we come home we should watch it in English. Anyways, we got to madrid and literally had about 7 min to get to our next train. We got onto the train and 3 seconds later the doors closed. we were so proud of ourselves. When we booked our night train they unfortunately didnt have any beds left. :( so we had to sleep in an upright position all night. which was not fun. So we finally got to Lisbon 10 hrs later and tried to find our hostel at 8am. But the directions that they gave us were completely wrong. so we ended up going back to the train station to get wifi to book a different hostel. We're happy with the place we chose, its very homey and all of the staff for the most part have been very nice to us. Last night was the finals of the Euro Cup, and we have been following it this whole time that we have been here. So yesterday we went on a search to find an Irish pub to watch the finals. we found one! we at fish and chips, drank our beer, and watched Spain crush Italy 4-0. Today we went on a search for the sister bridge of the Golden Gate! and we found it! but you cant walk across that one! of well. we got some nice pictures of it. We then toured the city on buses and cable cars for a little bit. we havent decided what we are doing tomorrow! Miss you all like crazy -Sarah and Crystal |
