My, oh my, how time does fly. Here we are almost at the end of our stay here in Prescott getting ready for our next adventure. We actually cancelled our plans for Colorado due to the horrific fires there that were/are too close to the place we were going to stay. With luck, I called Kellogg, Idaho, and low-and-behold, the place we rented last year just became available. Talk about luck. So we’ll head out on Wednesday or Thursday morning heading north with no real time table or schedule to keep.

Talk about flying… several hot air balloons drifted aimlessly over our house on a beautiful morning last week. That planted the idea and I set upon making reservations for an early morning flight two days later. The balloons reach an altitude of 3,000 feet and drift according to the direction and speed of the wind. You are followed by a tracking vehicle that brings you and the balloon back once you land somewhere out in the desert. Power lines and trees are extra. You have to be at the launch site at 4 in the morning. All flights liftoff at sunrise only. Our flight was cancelled twice due to wind conditions. The getting up early enough to be there at 4 a.m. is the only real challenge. It’s now on our bucket list which seems to be growing longer the older I get…

With nothing to do on Friday, we got on the Harley and headed out to Seligman again for lunch at the historic Roadkill Café on old Route 66. They were all out of possum so we settled for the Prairie Dog Burger and a Coyote Sandwich. Hey, when you’re hungry you’ll eat anything. No joke. That’s what’s on the menu along with Swirl of Squirrel, Caddie Grilled Patty, Fender Tenders and Highway Hash. Their motto: You kill it, we grill it…
