We had a nice drive today over to Westport from Hoquiam, about 25 miles. Our goal was to see Grays Harbor Lighthouse, it is Washington's tallest lighthouse at 107 feet tall.
We also enjoyed visiting the small town of Westport. Westport is located on a peninsula on the south side of the entrance to Grays Harbor from the Pacific Ocean.
The public Westport Marina is the largest marina on the outer coast of the United State's Pacific Northwest. The marina is home to a large commercial fishing fleet and several recreational charter fishing vessels.
We had a wonderful seafood lunch, talk about fresh fish, it comes in daily right from the boats in the harbor. We also enjoyed watching several people painting pictures of the harbor.
We didn't see any real whales today, but we saw some cool ones made of driftwood. :-) I hope you enjoy the photos, check back later for more from Washington.
