Day 8...Did you know that Adam Lambert was born in Indianapolis Indiana? I didn't know that either until I googled him. Kind of ironic that we listened to his music on the drive today.
Wow wow wow is it HOT HOT HOT here in OHIO..We are currently holed up in Aunt Peggy's house in Dayton. Thank goodness for air conditioning..LOL..wow..deja vu..feel like I have said that before.
Anyhoo..this be a short blog...which will be rewritten later when Rose finds her camera. Lets hope we didn't leave it somewhere!!!
The doggies are happy cause they get to finally run around..in fact Owen is barking his lil applehead off. Coco chiming in as well. They seem to really love Aunt Peggy's house or could it be that it is her fenced in back yard they are allowed to roam and chase each other in..Don't get a heat stroke kids!!!
Okay...the camera has been located!! woohoo..it was right where Rose left it..so blame her! LOL..Anyhoo...we left Crawfordville and headed east to Dayton. Our first stop was just before you get to Indianapolis, IN. Around Brownsburg. Nothing major here, just a quick rest up and pee for the doggies! However, once you leave this rest stop the traffic gets a bit heavier because you are getting close to Indianapolis. Rose wanted to drive through Indianapolis but she was vetoed. Soooo..had to go around..But got a few pics of the town ...little small for my taste..LOL..just kidding. We didn't get very close as you can tell and to tell you the truth...the air quality just was not great. OH yeah..we did get close enough to see where the Colt's play..Rose tried to get a few shots of it while driving...naughty naughty!!
Our next stop was at a place near Knightstown Indiana. They had a great spot that is considered a wetlands for the ducks and things..nice, no ducks for the dogs to chase however..
Welcome to OHIO!!! We are soo close! Dayton here we come!
So, we finally got to Dayton and followed the directions to get to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. *sigh* we managed to get lost! Directions say to follow the signs for WPAFB Area A-C...which we did..sort of..took the exit and realized that we were in a residential area..so Rose found the first turn out so we could turn around..little did we know that where we turned was across the field from our cousin Mindy's house. Turned around only to find out that there was no entrance back to the highway so we had to go all the way across the freeway to find a place to turn around at. We followed this road and noticed we were at the AFB. But the gates were too small. Rose decided to find a gas station to turn around in, which she did...AND..little did we know, the road where she turned around was 1 block away from where our Cousin Mindy Worked...*shakes head*
So back we went toward the highway, found an entrance to the south bound ...passed an exit that we though might have been the one we needed but didn't take it..ended up driving all the way back into Dayton Ohio before turning around. Took the exit WPAFB Area A-C and low and behold..was the freaking exit where we turned near Mindy's work. Rose was frazzled to no end by this point..so she pulled over and called Mindy. She gave us the address to her work and Rose plugged it into the GPS. We followed the GPS but it was so slow that Rose missed the turn she needed...I don;t think this went over well with her!
So she turned when she could..*ponders a moment* Have any of you tried to turn a 34 foot RV in a small space? well by this point in the trip...Rose is an expert...ANYHOO....she found a place to turn around...and yet again...little did we know at the time...we were about 50 feet from the AFB gate we needed...*sigh* So we ended up at Mindy's work...I posted a pic of her building. We parked the RV in her parking lot and she drove us to Aunt Peggy's house.
So we now are in Aunt Peggy's house...the doggies are happy because they get out of the RV and a fenced in backyard to run around in. Nana and Popa are happy because they are no longer travelling and in an air conditioned house...and Rose is extremely happy because she gets to relax for a bit..hehehehe...
And as Adam Lambert would say..." I want to start a revolution, A type of personal solution, We all have got our own pollution, It's all about the execution.." ...what does that have to do with Dayton Ohio?? Nothing..I just like the song!
CHOW for NOW!
