Headed homeward today. Luckily, it was planned as a short day. We celebrated a successful trip with breakfast at Denny's before leaving Kingman.

Driving up route 93, I gave Michael one more chance to lap up some turquoise but he' d sated himself yesterday :-)

The scenery along the scenic route was glorious! Crags, cliffs, mesas, buttes and Joshua Trees made the early part of the day. We crossed over Twin Wash; Michael says he is holding out for Airline Stewardess Wash, but we never did find it.

One five mile stretch of I-15 was dicey as it was backed up due to construction. Moon Dance needed several breathers before that to cool down. Temps were up to 118 in places and some of the scenic route grades were considerable.

At last we reached our campground and settled in. I think it will be a warm night though; it was still 103 at 6pm!

Dinner tonight: pulled pork with tortillas, chilled Chardonnay and ice cream with raspberries.  Not a bad life on the road.
