Because we only went a short way to get to Bozeman the other day, Things got kind of messed up as to where our next stop would be. We could either travel only about 100 miles and stay in Columbus, or travel 277 miles to Miles City. (which is farther than we usually travel in one day).
Oh there are a few places that we could have stayed in between those two places, but they were either quite expensive or didn't have good ratings.
So, , , , , Jim made the decision to head for Miles City.
Because it was going to be a longer travel day, we left the Bear Canyon Campground near Bozeman at 8:55 and continued East on I-90. About 25 miles from Bozeman, Jim pulled me into a truck stop in Livingston, MT. and filled me up with some good tasting #2 diesel. From there we got back on 90 and followed it to just past Billings, where we left 90 and turned off on I-94.
We made one "pit stop" at a rest area on 94 about 1/2 way here to the Big Sky Camp and RV Park in Miles City.
It was 1:55 when we pulled into the park, so it took us almost exactly 5 hours to travel 277 miles, get fuel and make the "pit stop".
This campground is OK. It's not someplace where I'd like to stay for an extended period of time, but for a few nights, it'll do. The owners are great and go out of their way to help in any way they can. The pull-through sites are plenty long for even the longest RVs, the sites are fairly level, but they are quite narrow and you share the hook-ups with your neighbor.
But, at only $20 per night for a water and electric (30 amp) site I guess you can't complain too much.
Because of the low price and the fact that we've got plenty of time before we want to get to Black Duck to see Linda's cousin and his wife, Jim paid for 2 nights.
I have no idea what's happening today, probably not much. I'm hoping Jim will get out the camera and take a few photos of this park so I can post them here, and CLT says that he's needing a drink of 87 octane so maybe Jim and Linda will take him into town and buy him some.
A Point to Ponder : Are zebras black with white stripes, or white with black stripes?
