So, here we are back in Dawson City. Drive back down The Dempster was uneventful, except for a car chase. A car passed us going the other way really fast (some kind of roadster looking car) and it was followed by another car. We thought it might be some kind of a race, but realized the second car was a police car. Where they came from, I don't know. There are no side roads. Anyway, a bit of a mystery. And that's all we saw. Before that we had not passed another for over 2 hours. Scenery was just as beautiful going back. We have seen alot of areas which from a distance, I first thought was beetle kill, then thought it might be burn areas, but as we got closer they are areas of pine which are called black spruce (they are tall and skinny with black trunks. They are a pretty ugly tree. As we got to Dawson City the temp increased to about 78 degrees. There was mountain rose in bloom everywhere. We checked in to the campground and immediately stopped at the car wash area (car was SUPER dirty). As we stood there with the hose it started to rain. Oh, well. We are staying at a different campground because the last one charged extra to fill up with water at the dump site and it made John mad.
