Hey, did everyone hear about the crazy woman pretending to be me that wrote a journal entry full of typos, misspellings and the dreaded grammar mistakes? I hope the police catch her soon. She's giving me a bad name. LOL. Obviously we had a good time yesterday. We made it into Nashville around 11 am. We got settled in our campsite and decided to hit the pool. We met some nice people camping around us and hung out with them for a bit last night.
Today we hopped a shuttle into the town of Nashville. It's Country Music Fest here. Who knew? The one thing I do know is it's very fashionable to wear cowboy boots with anything here. Have to say I never thought of cowboy boots as appropriate footwear with booty shorts, but then again, a diva I am not. We took a cab out to the Parthenon. Way cool. Had we been properly prepared we would have realized that it didn't open until 12:30 pm and not been there by 11am. But then again, Gary wouldn't be Gary if he wasn't early. The Parthenon was really cool and worth the wait. We roamed around Centennial Park (the grounds around the area). One thing we determined is it's a haven for homeless. If nothing else, Dillon learned he needed to get an education and job so he doesn't have to sleep in the amphitheater and carry his crap in a trash bag. Oh the little lessons life offers us when we least expect it.
Inside the Parthenon is a true to scale replica of the Goddess Athena found in the original Parthenon in Athens, Greece. The good thing is we got to see it without having to leave the country or worry about the building collapsing. The one in Greece is 100 times older than the one in Tennessee. When we were done, we caught a cab back to the center of Nashville to watch the freak-o-las walking around. These people LOVE their country music. We got free ice cream, free jelly belly jelly beans (my personal favorite) and hung out in the Sony Play Station game trailer for a while.
Before we left, we took a tour of the Ryman Auditorium, which is the original location of the Grand Ole Opry. It was cool to see that much musical history. I was going to record a record in the recording studio, but decided that I couldn't handle the fame and fortune that would come from a record big-wig hearing how good I sounded. I'd much rather return to my regular middle class life at the end of these two weeks.
We're back at the camper now. prepping for the trip to Oklahoma City in the morning. It'll be a long trip on the road, so let's hope there isn't anything exciting to report.
Love to all,
The Fitz 3
