Our campground for the next two nights was very pretty and had...
We walked along the river into town for dinner
Enjoyed a sauerbraten dinner with musical entertainment
Plus bells from this nearby tower
With figures that revolved on the hour
Lovely evening for a stroll through town
Many attractive restaurants and cafes; some had musical entertainment also
May 27th – to Rudesheim, Germany
A day of driving, mostly on the autobahn. Filled up with diesel at 1.519/liter. Took 55.56 liters and cost of 84.40 euros. (You math folks can figure out the cost per gallon if you like.)
As we neared Rudesheim and our cg it was a pretty drive along the Rhine River [Rhein] on the left with vineyards on the right. Very pretty cg; lots of flowers, huge restrooms but no WiFi. I did manage to do some hand wash and a load of laundry (3.50 euros each for W & D) so we're pretty well caught up as we move into the Frankfurt hotel again in 2 days.
Our group walked along the Rhine admiring a river cruise boat and young geese on the bank. Into Rudesheim to a very nice restaurant for a very good sauerbraten dinner with excellent apple strudel for dessert. There was music, singing and dinner guests dancing. It was a lovely evening to stroll the narrow streets of town and see and hear everyone having a good time.
