Coco did an amazing dinner last night with beef and chicken enchiladas, chile relano, spicy salsa, guacamole, beans and rice. It was really raining so Ava. Roby, Garrett and Ian (the collective grandkids) could not go swimming in “Pop’s” pool. Instead Ava read her poem she had just written. Garrett sang and played “all my exes from Texas” and other more contemporary tunes. Ian and Ava loved playing “horse”. Great being with all of the grand kids. Michelle and Roby III arrived about 8:00 (after Roby’s basketball team WON) Had a good time sharing Kweller 1970 camping stories. Roby and Roby Jr. did a lot of camping in their VW Westphalia when growing up so Michelle is interested!

Roby was up and had the table set for breakfast before 7:00 with coffee, lots of fresh fruit and “Tuscan bread”. Amazing!

Left about 8:30 under overcast skies. Bob had lunch at Subway and I made a salad in the rig on the way. Arrived in Amarillo Best Western about 3:30. Bob and I went to register. Apparently Bob left his driver side window open because Pepper greeted us as we left reception. He jumped out the window!!

I worked out for a while and took the “escape artist’ for a walk.

Went to Carinos Italian Grill which was nearby for dinner. Lasagne and bowtie pasta with a 2010 Chianti in a straw bottle! I honestly should have taken the bottle for nostalgia.
