| On Saturday 7 April 2012 after our arrival over in Southampton on Good Friday from Dublin on the start of our long awaited three week cruise the Titanic Memorial Cruise. Southampton is a very historical city not only with relation to Titanic, more of this later, but also it is a very old historical city, as it is one of the nearest martime cities and was historically one of the oldest and nearest ports to Europe. Southampton was intrinsically linked with the Titanic, mainly most crew of the ill fated liner were from Southampton. Another link of interest not history linked is the fact that Southampton is across the water from the Isle of Wight which I did not get a chance to visit but maybe next time. My current interest in Isle of Wight is it is the home of Liz Earle and her wonderful products. |
