Biloxi Lighthouse
Beach at Bay Saint Louis
| We passed by the Biloxi Lighthouse which has become a symbol of hope. It to survived Katrina but still needed work done on it. It is the only lighthouse that stands in the middle of a 4 lane highway! All the bridges along the route from Biloxi had to be replaced....they are beautiful....and for some reason I didn't take any pictures! At the end of our journey we came to Bay St Louis and drove along the beach area there. They are re nourishing the beach to increase its size and to have more recreational area. There are new businesses in the area we went.... and then we saw one of the trees. You see many of the tress survived but many didn't. Local artist have carved the dead trees to give them new life. They are all along the highway. This one was in a location where we could stop and look. It was an amazing work of art! Everywhere you looked there was a surprise waiting....just enjoy the pictures. We enjoyed our few days on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. There was a lot to do and see....and as always....with as much as we did there was more to see.....So we will return some day. Where to next....plans were made and then a change in plans.....we call it Jello! |
