| Today we got up early and headed up to Canyonlands National Park. Since we were just going to visit the overlooks we took Heidi. She likes to get out and ride in the truck. After twenty five miles we were at the fee station. After paying out ten bucks we headed to the first stop at Upheaval Dome. We could not see anything from the parking lot so I took a little one mile round trip hike to the overlook. After a few pictures I headed back to the truck. We then headed to the next stop Green River Overlook. However, we noticed some great views so we stopped for some more pics. Twelve miles later we arrived at Green River Overlook. The national parks have a rule that pets are not allowed on the overlooks or trails we had to look one at a time to see the views. Then on to Grand View Overlook before heading back to the RV Park. As we were leaving the wind was starting to build and getting stronger. Debi did take a picture of a dirt devil that was lots of fun. Avter arriving back we took a little rest and stayed inside as the wind and dust were blowing. I battled the wind and started the BBQ and put some port chops on the grill while Debi made a salad and some mac and cheese. We will settle in for the night and watch some TV. Tomorrow the wind should be gone and I will head back over to Arches to do a little hiking. Not sure how many pictures I will take a few of some arches close up. I posted pictures of Canyonlands National park. |
