Our last flat white for a while….we left the hotel after packing up and having breakfast, and had a final flat white at Z Sport café. We headed south through Milwaukee and called into Chicago to collect a couple of parts we’d ordered from a bike shop there. Chicago is a HUGE place, we couldn’t wait to leave. Our new GPS took us off the interstate for a while…we can’t understand why, as it wouldn’t have been quicker/faster/easier than staying on the interstate. However we followed the instructions and ended up on I-65 heading towards Indianapolis. We had a very late lunch just outside Chicago, at an Arbys. They do a BLT sandwich, made with real bread. Usually they call a filled roll a “sandwich, and I was really missing a good old Kiwi sandwich with two pieces of bread. This BLT really hit the spot, it was lovely.
Around 4.15pm we rang ahead to Lebanon, just out of Indianapolis, and booked a Comfort Inn for the night.
We’ve done some washing (I did it tonight, and they’ve got a laundry so I didn’t have to do it by hand in the bath!) and we’re about to head out for a quick tea.
Today we were in two states we’d never been to before: Illinois, and now Indiana. We're in another time zone now, we're in Eastern time, which means we've now been in all four timezones on this trip.
Tomorrow we head south, via Indianapolis and the Corvette Museum in Kentucky.
