Headed further east today as we track towards Germany. Every village here seems to have a chateau, some are in ruins, some still lived in, some restored. We stopped to have a look at a few and generally had a relaxing day before stopping at a place called Pithiviers.

This place looked a little larger than the other villages and there was quite a bit of traffic in town. Found a park in the center of town and went to the hotel to find a room for the night. Surprisingly they were full. The man rang another hotel and siad they had one room left. As we left the hotel we spotted the tourist information centre, so we went there to ask about accomodation. The lady there spoke a little english and said they had no idea why all the hotels were full.

Turns out she had been to Australia about 15 years ago. She rang the other hotel (there are only 3 in town) and they also had only one room left which we took. The lady said she had done some bargaining for us and got us the room for 60 euro including breakfast. When we got to the hotel we found there listed price was 72 euro plus 9 euro each for breakfast so we had done well!

After checking in, we had a wander around town. Bit of a strange place, seems very busy but not a lot of places open or things happening.
