Warm Sun & Cool Shade
May 29, 2012
|We turned the furnace on to take the chill off this morning. It is quicker than the fireplace. LOL
The chilly morning turned into another awesome day with clear skies and brilliant sunshine.
The light breeze remained cool though, and it was one of those days where sitting outdoors in the sunshine soon became too warm. Moving into the shade was comfortable for half an hour or so and then the sunshine became more enticing.
I washed windows and snapped the sunscreen on to cover the large picture window. That keeps a lot of heat from building up in the RV from the sun shining in that rear window.
Around lunch time I grilled the remainder of our pork patties, adding BBQ sauce when they were nearly done. Marilyn fixed potatoes with butter, salt & pepper and rosemary to go with the meat.
We then sat outdoors moving from the sun to the shade and back again, alternating every 20 to 30 minutes, to stay comfortable.
I do have some pictures to share with you and I wanted to post them today, before some of them are too far out of date.
Some are from when we were back in Hannibal and some from here at Mountaindale. I will get them downloaded and posted in tomorrow’s journal entry.
We decided to host a “Happy Hour” for friends Jesse & Ginger, starting at 4:00.
That gave us a good chance to just sit and visit with these good friends, in a very relaxed, casual atmosphere.
Keith came by and brought the Direct TV antenna and receiver, then connected us for Satellite TV reception.
We now get so many channels, we’ll never look at half of them.
We walked to the office and called Jennifer about the time she got off work.
It was so good to talk with her. We sent our love to those Grandkids. We sure miss them!
