Our Arrival in LondonMay 25, 2012

| Hello everyone! We have safely arrived in Europe! Unfortunately we had a slight delay on our flight over, and ended up landing 7 hours later than we planned. Oh well, life goes on. Anyways, we arrived at our hostel around 11pm, and it was this cute place with a pub as the bottom floor, and the next 2 floors were the hostel. We didn't realize that we were going to be sleeping in a room with boys....who snore...and are smelly... so aside from the jet lag, we slept pretty well aside from the snoring. (Thank god for ear plugs!) Our First real day in London we tried to meet up with some of Sarah's family who happened to be in London at the same time, but without phones it made it difficult to set up a time, so we got lost in communication. So instead we went and took a walk around Hyde Park, and saw Princess Diana's memorial, and hungout and put our feet in the cold water. It was soo nice :) (BTW its reallllyyyy hot and humid here!) After that we went and saw Big Ben, and Westminster Abbey. After that we went back to the hostel to take a nap (jet lag), and then I (Sarah) heard a guy talking about California, and my ears perked up and I said, "Where in California?" and he said "Northern" and I said "where?" he replied with "Petaluma" and i couldn't believe it. we had a whole conversation about how awesome it is to meet people who live right next to you so far away. Its such a small world. Anyways, the day after that we checked out of the hostel, dropped our bags off at the train station, and went and saw Fleet Street! there was a barber shop, and a pie shop a block away from each other! It was awesome. After that we walked across the millennium bridge, and saw the globe theatre. On our way back to the train station the "metro" had delays on both of the lines that we needed to get back, needless to say we became very good at the subway system, and got back to the station on time. So we hopped on a train and headed out to Evesham (pronounced Eve-Sham not Eves-ham :) ), which is where Crystal's relatives live. They picked us up from the train station, and brought us back to their house. Its a gorgeous 19'30's house (picture to come) with beautiful rooms and a great yard. Today they took us all around, and we ended up going to the castle where Winston Churchill was born and raised. it was "massive" as they say here. Then we went and got dinner at an old fashioned english pub, and of course we had fish and chips! Now we have just got back and are on our way to bed. I believe tomorrow they will be taking us to where Shakespeare was born, which will be awesome! Well thats all for now! On Tuesday we are off to Paris, and are spending the day in Paris and wednesday we're going to Euro Disney. yup thats right be jealous ;) Miss you all and btw Sarah's stomach needs to expand so she can eat more ;) Sarah and Crystal |
