The coach went in at 6:00 a.m. this morning. It was supposed to be ready at 9:00 and we were going to be on our way.....didn't happen. We got a call at 9:20 the new touch pad was in and the jacks still weren't working. Now they have put in a new jack, a new controller and a new touch pad. Newmar was stumped. Alvin (the mechanic) told us he'd been on the phone with the tech at Atwood and she couldn't figure it out either. She was sending a mechanic for Atwood down to Newmar (about 20 miles). It turns out that somehow and no one know why when the new controller and touch pad were installed they got shorted out. Rather than try to find the cause they put in all new wiring, another new controller and another new touch pad. That seemed to work and they called us about 1:45 that the coach and the bill was ready. We were very surprised at the bill - it was less than we thought. Being the time of day and we had been up since before 6:00 a.m. and were tired from just sitting around the lounge all day, we decided it would be stupid for us to start out for Louisville then. Brad got on the phone and wasn't able to get a reservation anywhere for tomorrow night. We debated staying here for the weekend and cutting out our stop in Nashville completely but have decided to leave as early as we can tomorrow morning and see if we can make Nashville in one day. It's more miles than we usually do, but if we get an early start and switch drivers every couple of hours, hopefully we can make it - if not, we will stop at Walmart along the way. We have to call Alvin tomorrow morning and let him know that the jacks are working ok before we leave. We are so happy we made the decision to come to the factory. If they had this much trouble, I'm sure Lee's would never have found it and the coach would have been tied up all summer with parts going back and forth. Will update again after we reach Nashville.
