Amarillo was almost a disappointment. Much smaller than we had imagined. Not much to see except the Palo Duro Canyon which is the Texas version of Grand Canyon. I will admit that it was pretty, but after seeing the real thing, ?? Went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse on Mother's Day, did laundry on Monday and just cooled our heels for a little while. The campground was the "PITS" but close to town. You can't win them all when you read the creative descriptions in the book.
