We drove about 40 miles from Santa Rosa today to tour San Francisco. We chose the Ride the Ducks - San Francisco Duck Tour. :-) We did the Duck Tours in Seattle, WA and again in Dells, Wisconsin and loved both of them. Today's tour was just as much fun.
We saw parts of San Francisco we didn't know existed. After the land tour we splashed into McCovey Cove. Jerry even drove the duck boat with his duck quacker quacking while he pretended to be blowing the horn with his arm. :-)
McCovey Cove is the unofficial name of a section of San Francisco Bay beyond the right field wall of AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, coined after famed Giants first baseman Willie McCovey. It was really cool to see it all from the water.
We had a sourdough bowl of clam chowder for lunch on Fisherman's Wharf and then had dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. We usually don't eat out this much, but this was a very special day. We really enjoyed the fresh seafood meals while being in such a special city.
We had a blast and highly recommend this tour to all. We had also planned on doing the Alcatraz tour, but they were totally booked. We could not believe the crowds of people waiting in line, we are hoping to get reservations for next week.
Check back later for more from California.
