Swimming beach at Greer's Ferry Lake

May 14 – On the road again. We are at Heber Springs, AR at the Dam Site COE Park. We wanted to go to Greer’s Ferry COE Park but they don’t open until tomorrow so we headed off down the road to Dam Site COE. We are located on the waterfront of the lake with a nice spacious spot.

It is sunny and 80 degrees. We are parked under tall trees and with the slight breeze it is a “just right” temperature.

I took another delicious nap – I don’t know if I will ever catch up on sleep from our house sale and our grueling move. Soon I hope but I am certainly enjoying the naps.

We had chicken parmesan with some leftovers from the Italian restaurant we went to yesterday. I did not bake the chicken parmesan but instead cooked it on the stove top and it was excellent and very easy – one fry pan only. And the best part is I have enough left for another meal and I only have to warm it up. I am all for easy.

May 15 – Got a picture of a red-headed woodpecker. Today we will have dinner with Lowell’s nephew and his family at 5pm. We headed into town and found an excellent restaurant, Mack’s Steak and Fish House. Then we toured the area – two of the other COE parks, the dam, a beautiful waterfall, the Little Red River, and two sandy beaches.

Hopefully we will have our mail at the post office tomorrow and we can head north again, if not we will go to the JFK COE park just down the road. At this Park is a Fish Hatchery, 16 to 24" trout must be released immediately, keeping one over 24" with a limit of five trout.
