We had a pretty confusing start on our train ride to Roma! Our seats were not together, and this train had compartments... We had first class, so for a few stops, we shuffled around cabins, trying to stay together! Finally, we settled in the back compartment, with only us being the only occupants! We boarded the ferry again in Messina , bought a few more snacks, as this time we had prepared and brought some groceries to snack on.....can get a bit antsy and hungry on these long routes. I worked on photo albums on my iPad, Molly listened to her iPod, we both napped, and al in all, a pretty nice ride. We arrived in Roma termini around 630pm. Got a cab to a perfect B&B on Ripetta Street, parallel to via de corso, right by the piazza del popola! Had a fabulous room, clean and crisp sheets!! Nice! Elena, my friend from Tosi's house works with the owners son, so it was a nice hook up! Jumped in the shower, spruced up, as our driver, Claudio was picking us up at 8pm! Originally, Sherri's connection, Andrea was going to drive us but after multiple emails with his car being in the shop, he referred us to a colleague of his. He was prompt, cute and of course, married! He started to give us our tour, which we promptly told him we were interested in the major sites, a local spot for a glass of wine and just wanted to see the town from the backseat! ( especially after our whirlwind Sicilia driving adventure!)....he obliged our request, and had a very nice time! My pics did not come out so well??? But in my mind's eye, the memory is quite vivid! We came in late, and went right to bed! Buona notte in Roma!!!
