Spider Web

Today was an adventure. Another thing to scratch off my bucket list. (I did not even know it was on my list). Just south of Flagstaff, some enterprising person has opened, on April 1, 2012 a new rope course with Zip Lines. The course is through Ponderosa pines. The platforms are anywhere from six (on the kids course) up to 65 feet high. And, let me tell you, it is one heck of a workout. There are 4 courses to go through, starting at an "easy" to downright scary. I was only able to complete two of them and Paula completed three. There are no guides on the platform, so you are responsible for your own safety. That is, make sure you are "double" hooked with your caribiners. Hook up one, disconnect the other and hook up again. You must hop-scotch you way around the trees, and hook up on the various lines. In total there are over 70 challenges. Rope bridges, a climbing wall 40 feet in the air, swings, cargo nets, rope ladders and zip lines to traverse. There are a couple of reasons I stopped after two courses. 1. I am scared of heights, and 2. I got plain tired. I think holding on to the ropes, etc., got me so tensed that I expended most of my energy.
