Hi Readers,
The gite that we were staying in was nice because it had floor heating ,a bunk bed and a big bath. It was kind of basic, hiking persons home.
Yesterday we had a 5km( about that long ) walk to a summit on the Robert Louis Stevenson (he went through the Cevennes with a donkey - he wrote Kidnapped and Treasure Island) walk (it was on a ski field). Before that we went on another part of the RSL track and it had 2 animals on it (donkey & horse). It was a very rocky track and had lots of hairpins, the way down was harder. On the summit, Ethan fell off a rock and hit his head, we were pretending we were army soldiers going up to fight the Germans; we pretended the track was a trench.
We normally see vultures circling around, and I am very surprised that it is their natural habitat here. Plus the donkeys seemed to be cared for pretty well. Mum thinks just one horse in particular looks like Warwick Capper because he's got a blonde mane and likes to show off!
The Millau bridge is the biggest bridge I've ever seen because it goes over a valley and joins two mountains. We drove there through the gorges of the Tarn (river), there were lots of hairpin bends and it was very dangerous. We had a little bit of tea because we got home about 8:30 it was still light, we had a Snickers bar!
From
Fraser.
