Usery Mountain Regional Park

We thought we were going to drive straight through to Mesa yesterday but as usual we got a late start and by the time we got to Gold Canyon, only a half hour or so from this park, we decided to overnight in a Basha's Supermarket parking lot. The manager gave us the ok and we settled in for the night. Of course it's free parking in a place like this but to show our appreciation we spend a bundle on groceries.

This morning after a quick breakfast we finished the drive to Usery Mtn Reg Pk. This is one of the prettiest parks we have been in lately. It doesn't hurt that spring has started and the desert is starting to greenup and bloom too.

We've come here to spend a few days with Carol's cousin Bob, you've met him back in Dog Canyon and also when we were in Winterhaven boondocking on Algodones Rd.

Bob has bought a used park model trailer at Superstition Lookout RV Park in Apache Jct. We don't plan on staying there though. The roads are narrow and the sites are close together, as usual in an RV park, but it seems even closer there for some reason. Probably because they are converting from travel trailers and motorhomes to mostly park models, these take up a much larger percentage of the lot. And in that park the trailers are really close to the streets.

Here at Usery Mtn the sites are spread out and have water and electric but no sewer, there is a dump station however. This is a very busy park, if you have a reservation and keep updating your reservations through the winter, one could stay here for the whole season. Sometimes people can't get a site consecutively and leave for a little while and then when their next reservation kicks in they come back. It's that nice a park.

We will have to move to another site in the morning as this is the only site available today. That's ok with us. We have told them we want to be here for a week or so and they don't think that will be a problem.
