(Ron Writing) By the time we got up this morning the “snake wranglers” were already gone so I didn’t get to find out how many more rattlesnakes they caught yesterday afternoon.

The other two campers left this morning also and we ended up having the campground to ourselves all day and it looks like we’ll be the only ones here tonight – very peaceful. The only problem is that it’s been getting warmer every day. Today it got up in the low 90’s but luckily there was a nice breeze all day. We spent much of the day sitting out under the awning reading and relaxing. I also spent time sitting on the other side of the campground just quietly watching the birds. While doing this I discovered two Bullock’s Oriole nests and found the papa great horned owl perched in a different tree a little ways from the mother and chick. Today the mother and chick were sitting right next to each other up high in the nest tree.

Weather: Overnight low – 59°, high – 90°.
