Molly's birthday

We woke up late....therefore missing our terrace breakfast! Happy Birthday I say to Molly, as she grunts and replies....my aching head! We pack up, slowly, check out of the wonderful B&B, The Artesan, and lumber to the car!!! Driving out of the city without a hitch, we get on the autostrada towards Catania!! We stop on the side of the road, as here instead of rest areas, they have full service gas/bar facilities. I grab an espresso and we purchase a couple of salads.....eating there! Back on the autostrada, Molly says " damn, you have really got this driving sh$$ down"..... By this time I am going 90mph, passing on the left semis... In the flippin tunnels! Oh yeah! We arrive in Taormina ,,, another challenge!!! Uphill, with pedestrians crossing the streets.....clutch in, then out, rev the motor, Move it cause I am coming through! We found a great hotel, just steps away from the city centro.....had the desk lady call the rental car place... They picked up the car.....all good! I might mention that to fill up a Citroen compact is over 60.00!!! And with my experience with twists and turns going thru the mountains with a 5 speed, I do not think I was getting the best gas mileage!! Lol ! We dolled up and headed to our little place, the Dacquiri , for a before dinner appertivo! Then, downtown for a wonderful dinner, again tipico of Sicilia!...the restaurant was the Tiramasu!!!! We ate a delicious pasta, met the chefs and a very nice couple from New York!! Highly recommend it!!! We were both wiped from the night, our whirlwind southern Italy trek, so we went to bed! Long train tomorrow! Sicilia to Roma ... 8 hours!
