Tower at night

Had a great sleep last night. Didn't get away until about 10:30 a.m. today. Got on the metro to Pere-Lachaise Cemetery to see Jim Morrison's grave. Also visited Oscar Wilde, Frederick Chopin, and Mor's favourite - Marcel Marceau. I mimed Maur when she was setting up a photo. Lots of pictures of Jim's grave. Then we went to his last apartment that he lived in. Then went to the end of the block for some food. Sat in a booth that he probably sat in at one time or another. I had a beer in his honor. 1% alcohol. Had a great lunch too.

Walked the Seine from Notre Dame to Eiffel Tower. Went to the top of the tower. Had to walk to the 2nd platform (20 stories or so) then got the elevator to the top platform which is 281 meters high. The tower is 334 meters high. Walked around some more and waited until dark to see the tower lit up. Worth the wait! Took the metro home about 10:30 - 3 lines - home by 11:30. We are a bit out of the way but it works.

Great first full day in Paris.
