Today I did laundry for the first time so it took most of the morning. After lunch we drove a few miles south to Pictograph Caves State Park. There are three “caves” there, really just undercuts in the cliffs, which were home to ancient Indian tribes, probably the Crows. Even with our vivid imaginations we had a hard time identifying any pictographs but it was a great outing anyway. It was a beautiful day with Montana Blue skies, puffy clouds, and a fresh breeze. The trail through the caves is less than a mile but quite steep so we got our daily workout. I almost stepped on another snake. From now on I’m looking at my feet instead of the view!
Afterwards we went to Billing’s Riverfront Park on the Yellowstone River. It’s quite beautiful with two small lakes and many walking trails. There are hundreds of Canadian Geese and Mallards so you have to be very careful where you step!
Tomorrow we leave for Great Falls, our last stop before the Canadian Border.
