Must have walked miles on my last day in Chattanooga. I started out at the Bluff's View Art District where I discovered a wonderful bakery during a "sculpture" walk along the river. Tons of families on bikes around here - had to be very careful both walking and driving.

I was very early for my 3:30 boat ride so I walked along the banks of the Tennessee River, stopping to sit in the shade every now and then, and finally getting to board the River Gorge Explorer for a 2 hour cruise. This catamaran type vessel is state of the art. When we were in "high speed" mode the boat got up to 52 mph. It can stop almost instantly and when it does it throws up an enormous spray. That was actually quite exciting. The Tennessee Aquarium has a naturalist on board who points out wildlife and historic points of interest along the way. At first he was very interesting but he never gave himself - or us - a break and by the end of the journey his voice was simply droning in my ears. Two hours of non stop nature info - without any humor interjected- was about one hour too much for me.

I arrived in Cleveland by 6:30 and thought I'd take a short nap before posting. Best laid plans! Now I am up am posting at 10 to 1 in the morning. Tomorrow - Red Clay State Park and then on to Knoxville.
