Maur and I spent Friday touring by ourselves after helping Chris find a clinic to take Joanne to. She may have strep throat. We took the metro to the Olympic area. Very large very beautiful. It is on one of the highest points in B. The metro is not too hard to use once you take the time to figure it out. A little harder to do in a foreign language. We have made a few mistakes and ended up going in the wrong direction but there is always something to see at the wrong end of the line too. So we just alter our plans for that day. The other night we had a lot of commotion is our street about 10 at night. Lots of people and LOTS of police. Figured it must be a street fight or riot or something. Turns out it was a fire from which everyone got out okay. 2 more days of B and then on to Paris. A 10 hour journey by train. We have worn out a pair of shoes each with the walking we have done. There is an elevator in our place here but we quite often take the stairs. 88 of them. You get used to stairs when you are on a cruise ship. Always a line up at the elevator. I have been getting up around 630 and hitting the streets looking for new coffee shops and getting back around 8 830. By then people are usually up. I find it interesting to see the people in their everyday life. I will get a coffee and sit somewhere and just watch people in their normal day. Hope everyone is good back home. We will send another one from Paris. The sideways white thing is the Olympic needle or tower.
See ya later Blaine
PS I feel badly for Maur cause she spent a LONG time composing a long detailed accounting of our last few days here and I think the site timed out before she saved it.
