Tiffin Motor Homes, Merlin's manufacturer, provided us the opportunity to watch his construction. We were given a pair of safety glasses and pointed in the direction of the manufacturing floor. Everyone could not have been nicer or more informative. We were welcomed with open arms and thanked continuously for our business.

Tiffin believes in complete transparency and welcomed all our questions. We were impressed with the quality of materials and care that was demonstrated during Merlin's construction.

The images in this blog are presented in the order in which Merlin was constructed. We were not present for some of the work, so parts of the process are missing.

Of note is the fact that the custom Freightliner chassis is made in Spartanburg, SC and then shipped to Red Bay, AL. The Freightliner power train consists of a Cummins engine and Allison transmission which is one reason why we settled on a Tiffin for our purchase.

We hope you enjoy these images and that they provide you some insight as to how a motor home is built.
