Mexican Canyon and the trestle trail

Left Silver City and went to the Leesburg Dam State Park, hot and windy. Visited the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces, really a wonderful place, it was more about New Mexico's history than just the farm and ranching. Well done! Went to Old Mesilla and had lunch at the famed La Posta. Billy the kid was here too.

Headed up to Cloudcroft for some cooler weather. At 9000 feet, a beautiful town in the Lincoln National Forest. Hiked the Mexican Canyon Trestle trail and camped at Silver, a forest service camp for 8 bucks a night. Peaceful. On the way we stopped in to see White Sands National Monument. Really white, lots of plant life and flowers. Such a surprise.
