| Tuesday April 24 Show Low, Arizona Our short drive of 150 miles took us about 8-9 hours. The drive from Show Low was relatively easy since we were driving in the Colorado Low Plateau area. However, we entered the Petrified Forest in the south entrance. We had been here about ten years ago, but we had only explored the north end of the park. The drive from the north edge of the Painted Desert entrance should only take a couple hours…wrong! The road was very rolling, big rolling hills and relatively narrow. Jim was growing tired so I drove for about 25 miles to give him a break. But when he returned to driving, the road now had become narrow…just barely room for two vehicles to meet each other all the way to Chinle. We arrived about a half an hour before dark and relaxed the rest of the evening in our RV |
