Anastasia's Pool

Stunning Rock Formation

After a hot trip from 80 Mile Beach, we finally arrived in Broome to find our way to Cable Beach Resort Caravan Park. Before we arrived we called into Sandfire for fuel. Saw the most beautiful Peacocks and there hens. Remember when the crisis was on cattle to go to Indonesia, well on the Roebuck Plains there is literally hundreds of cattle waiting there fate. Day 2 - went and paddled down at Cable Beach to watch the sunset and yes its as beautiful as you see in photos. Have taken some good shots overlooking the reef area. High tide was starting to come in. Day 3 - drove into Broome and then walked to see Chinatown. A little disappointing as I thought it would be like Melbourne Chinatown. Only stayed for morning as the heat reached 34 deg by 11am. Day 4 - Drove out to Gantheaume Point and found the Dinosauer Footprints and Anastasia's Pool. Anastasia's Pool was names after the former lighthouse keepers wife. He made it for his arthritic wife, so she could exercise her limbs during high tide. So very romantic. The pool only fills up a few times a year.On high tide of 9.5m and over the pool fills with water. The location is stunning surrounded by beautiful rock formations looking over the ocean.
