Nova Scotia Legislature Building

Clock Tower

Inside the Citadel

Inside the Citadel wall

Drove into Halifax. The Province House was built in 1819 and is Canada’s oldest provincial legislative assembly. We stopped at the Clock tower on Citadel Hill. The four sided clock tower was built to discourage tardiness and can be seen from anywhere in town. The Citadel is a massive star shaped fortification built by the British in 1856. Soldiers in period costumes described life during the time, they have a changing of the guard and noon time cannon firing.
