Our last night on the Seabourn Pride enjoying Peking duck with Janet...

For those of you who don't have a clue about this area - me included, Fujairah is one of the countries of the United Arab Emirates. Khor Fakkan is a town located along the Gulf of Oman on the east coast of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The town is set on the picturesque bay of Khor Fakkan, which means "Creek of Two Jaws". Khor Fakkan belongs to the emirate of Sharjah but is geographically surrounded by the emirate of Fujairah. It is a natural deep water port that is now a major container terminal and today, surrounded by many container ships, it is the temporary home of the Seabourn Pride.

Unless we passengers missed something - there is little here of interest. The shuttle bus has taken us on a 45 minute ride and dropped us into the parking lot of the Lulu Hypermarket, which is a large discount store out in the middle of a desert city with many new buildings being errected. Boring! What were you thinking Seabourn!! Nothing to see. Wasted some time here looking at useless stuff until the next shuttle bus arrived and then to find out there wasn't even enough room in the coach for all of us who wanted to go back to the ship. I saw this happening and queued myself at the front of the line.

The best thing of the day was the beautiful sunset over the al Hajar Mountains at sail away.

Tonight we are guests of Janet & Ron Monkhouse for Ron's Peking Duck dinner.
