Tuesday 4/24
Today we headed into downtown Austin to visit the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum. What a great museum detailing the diverse history of the Lone Star State!! As is typical, photos are not allowed in the Museum. So, you’ll just have to trust me when I say – don’t miss it! You should probably plan on at least 5 hours to see it. There is an IMAX and a regular theater showing films of interest. Parking (on the street or in one of the several parking garages) was easy and traffic was surprisingly light. The Museum covers every aspect of the history of the state from the Spanish explorations to Texas’ role in the space program. Kudos - very well done!
On the way home I had a moment of weakness and stopped at the Round Rock Premium Outlets. Ginger wandered around, we made a few purchases of “unmentionables” at the Jockey Store and I made some phone calls to friends back in VT which I had been wanting to make. We also made a stop at a Ford garage to check on a “check coolant additive” alert notice that we were getting on the truck (no problem).
