At 0545 we left Clarksboro, New Jersey and we took a new route and a great deal of the route we had never taken before. The sun was just struggling to rise as we left the campground and the sky was somewhat overcast and the temperatures cool.
We refueled at the last service plaza in New Jersey and we are glad we did as the diesel fuel prices in New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts were no less than $4.13 where the price on the Garden State Parkway was, hardly a bargain but significantly less, $3.95.
The roads were a combination of good to poor except for Rhode Island where the roads were very good. Yes, we traveled only about 50 miles in Rhode Island but those 50 miles of roads were really good.
We attempted to extend our stay here at the Normandy Farms RV Resort but were limited to two nights because we wanted 50 amp electrical service and all of their sites with 50 amp were already booked for the weekend because there is some sort of holiday this weekend.
On a whim Ross called our usual campground we use in Bangor, Maine on a hopeful guess and to his pleasant surprise someone answered the telephone and they said they are open but unofficially because the bathrooms are not yet open but everything else is online except their credit card reader. Therefore all of the campground fees must be paid in cash but the daily fee is only $15.00 rather than their usual fee.
Marge sent an email to owner of the Bucket Club RV Park in Fredericton to reserve a spot for us for at least a month but more likely two months. Marge was told during her earlier visit to Fredericton that the park was going to open on April 28th. However Marge has not received an answer to her email and as of now we are not 100% certain the campground will be open if we arrive there on Sunday the 29th or Monday the 30th. We will try and call the campground on Saturday after we get to the campground in Bangor.
Tonight the temperatures are expected to drop into the 30's and we are currently experiencing some very light showers which are expected to strengthen throughout the evening and the night time hours. Saturday's predicted weather is for sunny skies, and warmer temperatures. the temperatures will still be below normal for this time of year.
That is all for now.
