| We got everything together, hugged everyone goodbye, and got on the road about ten. It was not a particularly adventurous drive except that Gertie GPS kept trying to take us places where the road in front of our eyes didn’t agree with the one on Gertie’s map. Couldn’t find any of the restaurants that Gertie suggested, but we did find a shady parking lot and made our own lunch and continued on our way. McKinney Falls is really a neat place with lots of trees and (by early afternoon) no other campers in sight. We decided to be lazy and go hiking and birding in the morning. |
