4/9/12: Only three (Pat Amy and myself) of the twelve ladies on the trip along with two guides (Lisa & Marion) elect to do the Grandview. The trail was used as a mule route for copper mining up to 1908. The six mile distance was not bad it was the 2600ft (5200ft total) elevation change that made is so difficult!! The views, however, were well worth the energy it took to make it! The trail was narrow and not well maintained. It is a popular viewpoint at the trail head with panoramic views of Horseshoe Mesa and we saw several people there and maybe 1/2 mile into the trial. After that we were pretty much alone for the day (ran into maybe 6 people during the 5 hour hike). We hiked 3 miles down to the Mesa and had a great lunch then hiked back out.
